CNN —Another day, another record broken by Iowa’s Caitlin Clark. In the Hawkeyes’ 95-62 Big Ten Tournament win against the Penn State Lady Lions on Friday, Clark eclipsed NBA star Steph Curry’s record of most three-pointers hit in a single NCAA Division-I season. However, Clark has now surpassed the man who many consider the greatest three-point shooter in the history of basketball. Clark eventually found her groove and was able to sink the crucial three to write her name in yet another page of the history books. In a win against the Ohio State Buckeyes on March 3, Clark overtook Hall of Famer “Pistol” Pete Maravich’s record of 3,667 points.

Two weeks after she broke the record for women, Caitlin Clark has become NCAA Division I basketball's overall top scorer, period. The Iowa Hawkeyes star went into Sunday's game against the Ohio State Buckeyes needing 17 points to break "Pistol Pete" Maravich's record of 3,667 career points, which stood for more than 50 years. Clark, 22, earned the women's record Feb. 15 when she scored eight points in a game against Michigan and passed Kelsey Plum's 3,527 career points in her career, which ended in 2017. She put up 33 points against Minnesota on Wednesday to cement her place atop the all-time career points among women to play for major colleges. Maravich's NCAA men's scoring record was 3,667 points, which he set playing for LSU from 1968 to 1970.

Knight was called "a legend among coaches" by the Basketball Hall of Fame, where he was inducted in 1991. Knight was Big Ten coach of the year five times and a four-time national coach of the year.

Athletic programs at Boston College, New Mexico State University and Northwestern University are just three US institutions that have been dealing with hazing allegations in 2023. That was the highest incidence of hazing among a student group or team, ahead of fraternities and sororities, in which 38.3% of respondents reported having experienced hazing. Recent examplesThere has been considerable fallout following allegations of hazing among college sports teams this year. The following week, attorneys representing at least 15 former Northwestern University student athletes announced plans to sue the university over allegations that its athletics department fostered a “toxic culture” which facilitated harassment and sexual abuse. Former Northwestern University football player Ramon Diaz is suing the school over hazing and racism allegations.

CNN —University of Southern California quarterback Caleb Williams was named the 2022 Heisman Trophy winner Saturday night. Williams beat out Texas Christian University Horned Frogs quarterback Max Duggan, Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback C.J. The Heisman award caps off a season in which USC ended up just short of the College Football Playoff. Williams is the seventh Trojan to win the award and the first since quarterback Matt Leinart in 2004. Williams suffered a hamstring injury in the Trojans’ loss to the University of Utah in the Pac-12 championship game last week.
